Pro Landscaper Award 2024
We are proud to announce that Helmrig Ltd won the Pro Landscaper 2024 Business Award for Landscape Company £1M - £3M turnover at the Award Ceremony at Old Billingsgate, London. It was a fantastic event celebrating the success of so many companies and individuals across our industry.
7 months on from the event we were asked to reflect on how the award has benefitted our team and our business. Here is our Managing Director talking about how he feels it has allowed us to celebrate our team and has supported our continued success in 2024
The Duncan Rowlings Award
On Friday 6th December our Helmrig Ltd team got together to present the first annual Duncan Rowlings Award. For 2024 was awarded to Rick Buckley from our Knotweed Eradication Division.
In November of 2023 we tragically lost one of our colleagues, Duncan Rowlings, to a heart problem. Duncan started his career with Helmrig Ltd in 1988, and worked with us for over 35 years. He was an expert landscaping foreman and a proud Scotsman, known for his steely blue eyes and sharp wit.
Duncan set the bar high - it wasn't just the standard of his work - it was the way he kept his van, his tools, the way he conducted himself. Duncan didn't suffer fools, but he was also the first to take a new team member under his wing and pass on his knowledge - we owe him a lot.
With the blessing of Duncan's family, it has been our honour to start a new tradition - the Duncan Rowlings Award for the Tradesperson who demonstrates the highest professional standards throughout the year.
Special thanks goes to Janet (Duncan's wife) and Gail (one of his daughters), who came to our offices on Friday to make our first award presentation.
